Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I had updated my blog. I have been a bad bad blogger. I plan on doing better in 2010 promise!

I do have some good news to share with you though. There has been a delay with SU! getting out the new catalogs that go active on January 5th. With that being said, they have decided to publish the catalogs early on the website! Orders can not be completed yet, but you can start to get your list ready. Click here for the Occasions Mini or here for the SAB catalog. It may take a few minutes to load since it is a big file.

There is so much stuff in the mini that I know you all will love. To start, SU! has started to offer clear mount stamps. How cool is this?!?!

Clear-Mount Rubber Stamp Features :
~Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
~Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
~Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist.
~Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
~Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
~Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
~Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases with artwork on front and spine, making organization easy.

Also being introduced in the mini is a new line of punches. Can it get any better then that?

A few features of the new punch style:
~Low-profile, rectangular punch body allows for easier stacking and storing
~Punches lock shut for easier storage and transport
~Dual labels on top and end allow for easy identification and selection when stored
~Available in three sizes: small, medium, and extra-large
~New punches allow for larger punched images and more intricate designs while providing greater ease of use.
~Extra -large punch images also allow for two-step designs like the Two-Step Bird punch in the Occasions Mini Catalog
~Corner punches allow you to punch a corner design along the inside edges of a page, not just corners
~larger, whole-hand handle design provides better leverage for easier use
~Available in an exclusive Stampin' Up! color

Our Sale-A-Bration promotion gives reason for everyone to celebrate! There are four different stamp sets, one fabulous paper pack, and one border punch. New this year to SAB: You can choose a stamp set that is from the current Idea Book and Catalog priced at $15.95 or less.

I am a member of a special team of people who care about the health of babies. That's why we have banded together to raise money and participate in the March of Dimes March for Babies. I am asking you to join our fundraising efforts today by sponsoring my walk.

Contributing online is fast, easy and secure. You can donate directly from my personal webpage with a credit card or PayPal. If you prefer, I can also accept cash or check. Just click the appropriate box on my webpage.

The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.

We need your help. Visit my webpage and sponsor me!

I know in these tough times it is hard to donate to charities. Even the smallest amount will help tremendously. In the spirit of donating, I am going to give away blog candy to two lucky people.

After you make a donation with March for Babies, come back and leave a comment that you did so. On February 5th, I will use random.org to pick two names. The first person will receive an assortment pack of 8.5X11 cardstock (family color your choice). The second person will receive a wheel stamp of their choice (standard or jumbo; $8.50 max). Anyone who donates $5 or more is eligible for the blog candy.

Please spread the word! The more people who donate, the more babies we can help give the fighting chance they deserve.

I joined a themed monthly swap for the 2010. I decided that this swap would help kick my but in gear and stop procrastinating. For the month of January, Valentine cards was the theme.

This is what I came up with. I was trying to stay away from the tradtional pink, red, and white cards. As you can see, I was slightly succesful. :~)

Magnetic Top Note

A few months ago my upline, Karen Sullivan, gave me a magnetic sheet to play with. At the time, I had no clue what to do with it, so into the "stamp cave" it went. I had forgotten about it until last night when I decided to clean out my closet and see what I had in there.

I instantly knew what I wanted to do when I saw it. I got some mini calendars last month in a group bulk buy with the LNS group. I knew that I wanted to mount the calendar and stick it on the fridge but didn't want it to be to plain. The top note was a perfect size for the magnetic sheet. I got two out of the one sheet that I had.

I used the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper, silver brads, and a little bit of glue stick to make this. It is still a little plain, but I have more to add to it. I am going to make the whole thing into a message center. I was just wicked happy that I got the magnet to hold that I had to share with you guys.

The second top note is going to be a post it note holder. I am also going to make a third top note out of the new decor elements chalkboard vinyl. When those are completed, I will share more pictures with you.

Until then, I hope you guys are having a great weekend and stamping your hearts out! :~)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope everyone had a happy and safe evening last night. :~) Paul had to work the overnight shift so there was no going out for us. I tried to stay up to watch the ball drop, but I couldn't make it. It's funny that I used to be able to stay up for hours and hours and never get tired. Now I am ready to hit the hay at ten, eleven o'clock.
We have been getting snow on and off since 10am on Thursday. The weatherman says it should snow all the way through Sunday (something I am not looking forward to). I have never really been comfortable driving in the snow. People seem to forget everything they learn and start to drive like they are in a video game.
What I do look forward to is taking Logan out to play. He LOVES it! Here is a picture of him right when we got outside. He was so excited, but the poor thing could hardly move. I bundled him up nice and tight. :~)
Here is also a picture of our backyard. I love it when the snow is the sticky wet kind. Makes things so much prettier. The only good thing about the snow.
Well that is it for today. I want to wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
